Pause of Solidarity at Al-Ahliyya Amman University
Al-Ahliyya Amman University students, in coordination with the Deanship of Student Affairs, organized a pause of solidarity, which was attended by Prof. Dr. Sadeq Hamed, President of the University, deans of faculties, faculty members, and administrative staff. The pause aims to condemn Israeli violations of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem amid Arab, Islamic and international silence. A speech was delivered during this pause, in which it was confirmed that all means should be employed to exercise pressure on Israel, which exerts all efforts to eliminate the Palestinian people. During the pause of solidarity, the students greeted Jerusalem people who are facing the occupation forces with their bare chests in defense of Jerusalem and their land. The students called on the international, the Arab and Muslim community to provide them with all possible forms of support to help them stay in their own land and protect the sacred places. Students praised the stance of the King, government and people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and their support for the Palestinian cause in general and for Jerusalem in particular. This support was marked by the withdrawal of the Jordanian ambassador, as well as the marches and sit-ins that took place in the Kingdom. This emphasizes the role of the Hashemite trusteeship of the holy places in Jerusalem and the historical role of the Hashemites in the continuous construction, protection, and care of Al-Aqsa Mosquse, and Jordan absolute rejection of any action that would prejudice or compromise the sanctity or sacredness of Al-Aqsa Mosque. Students raised slogans and banners that affirm the Arab identity of the city of Jerusalem and not allowing the Jews to take hold of Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is under Jordan custody and responsibility.
