Our University Organizes Awareness Lecture on Lung Cancer in Collaboration with Hussein Cancer Foundation

Our Deanship of Student Affairs, in collaboration with the Hussein Cancer Foundation and the AAU Anti-Cancer Youth Club, organized an awareness lecture on lung cancer. The objective was to disseminate awareness among students and educate them about the importance of early detection as a fundamental pillar in combating the disease, providing a significant opportunity for recovery. The lecture commenced with a welcome from Bana Al-Saafin, the representative of the AAU Anti-Cancer Youth Club, and began with a minute of silence and the recitation of Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs of Gaza. Al-Saafin emphasized that such activities confirm the commitment to enhancing collaboration between our university and the Hussein Cancer Foundation. Dr. Nada Al-Tamimi, the representative of the Hussein Cancer Foundation, affirmed that these activities aim to raise awareness about the importance of early detection, leading to the diagnosis of the disease and preventing any complications on the body's health. Additionally, it contributes to enhancing medical awareness within the community, reaching the highest standards of health and general safety. Al-Tamimi spoke about lung cancer, as well as prostate, colon, and bladder cancers. She highlighted the causative factors and preventive measures, emphasizing that combating the risk factors of cancer is a national and societal responsibility. She commended the supportive role of our university in the efforts of the foundation by organizing events and activities to raise awareness about the importance of cancer prevention.
