Our university brings us together.... A festive carnival at the second meeting of Al-Ahliyya Amman University graduates

Under the patronage of Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, the Chairman of the AAU Board of Directors, AAU hosted the second meeting of its graduates since its establishment in 1990 in a joyous carnival titled Our University Brings Us Together. The spirit of affection and brotherhood prevailed among the graduates in this event which took place on Friday 19/7/2019. The ceremony was attended by the Honorable Bdour Bint Abdulelah, the AAU President Prof. Sari Hamdan, the Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Mustafa Al-Atiyyat, the Director of Public & International Relations Mrs. Inas Al-Hourani, the representatives of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Group and the Jordan Kuwait Bank and a number of AAU graduates and their families.In his speech, Dr. Maher Al-Hourani expressed his happiness with the second graduate carnival, which aims to bring together many University graduates from the AAU establishment, and thanked the Director of Public & International Relations Mrs. Inas Al-Hourani for organizing this carnival for the second year. He noted that the reputation of any university depends on the level of its graduates in the first place. He also wished that the University will one day be able to embrace all its graduates to find out their feedback to establish further interaction and development as well as to realize the graduates’ achievements. Dr. Maher concluded by expressing his pleasure with the observations and opinions of graduates regarding the development of AAU and the graduates’ future prospects. He also was pleased to hear their suggestions that are of benefits for the University after graduation, because each one of them has accumulated experience in different fields. The AAU President, Prof. Sari Hamdan, also participated in this event and talked about the AAU’s achievements and rapid development. Then he mentioned these achievements in the following: The University recently ranked 301 among the universities worldwide; it also obtained the international accreditation ABET in the field of Network Security; it introduced new specializations and it joined the MIT Coalition which is the number one university in America and worldwide. Prof. Sari also talked about another achievement of AAU which is establishing a business incubator where graduates play a great role by providing it with their experiences. In turn, this incubator provides opportunities for creative students who are still studying to develop their abilities and to attain the highest positions. He added that AAU signed several agreements with many universities and established the Teaching & Learning Center for faculty members’ development. He also said that the University is taking wide and thoughtful steps to rise to the top and obtain these achievements. These cannot be achieved without the support of the Council of Trustees and the Chairman of the Board of Directors, who have never shied away from providing whatever efforts to contribute to the development, advancement and progress of the University.On behalf of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Group, Mr. Zaid Al-Majali, the Director of Knowledge Fields Quality Control, expressed his pride in the group's participation in this event, which confirms the good relations between this prestigious University and its students inside and outside Jordan as well as its keenness on following up with them. He also indicated that AAU within a short period of time has been able to obtain unique achievements at all levels, which contributed to its fame among its counterparts locally and regionally. He also expressed his pride for the partnership with the University in building the students’ capabilities to be able to compete and to enter the labor market by obtaining professional training certificates from the globally accredited Talal Abu-Gazaleh Group.On his part, the Branches Manager of Jordan Kuwait Bank, Nael Al-Sanaa’ expressed his pride in participating in this carnival and recalled the founder of this scientific edifice, which we take pride in, the late Dr. Ahmad Al-Hourani, may Allah have mercy on his soul. He was a national figure who believed in the promotion of science. He added that establishing a private university in Jordan was a great idea that opened new horizons for the people in Jordan. It is considered a qualitative leap at the level of university education in Jordan, which is reaping its fruits now with the presence of many private universities that supply the homeland with many distinguished graduates at all levels. He also pointed out that this carnival embodies the University’s interest in its graduates even after graduation and expresses the affection and the continuity of communication between the graduates and the University. It is an initiative that deserves to be thanked for the efforts of those in charge.During this carnival, many activities were presented and many awards were distributed to the participants.At the end of this event, Mrs. Inas Al-Hourani honored scores of graduates and participants and handed them with appreciation gifts. It is worth mentioning that this carnival was attended by the artists Jihad Akel and Ziyad Saleh as well as GuitaNai Band in the presence of guests of honor for the concert: Najm Al-Salman, Muhammad Al-Alawneh and Mahmud Al-Sultan.
