Our AAU Hosts Thrilling 4th Edition of Robotics Competition

On Saturday, November 18, 2023, Our University showcased the fourth edition of the Robotics Competition, titled "4TH Fire Fighting Robot Contest," at the Arena stage. The event was organized in collaboration with the Robotics and Automation Unit in Jordan, represented by IEEE RAS JORDAN CHAPTER. Eighteen teams from various Jordanian universities, both public and private, enthusiastically participated in the competition. The aim was to simulate firefighting and civilian rescue operations using robots, fostering innovation and creativity among students in the field of robotics. Professor Jamal Al-Nabulsi, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Mustafa Rashid, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, extended a warm welcome to the participating teams, judging panels, and organizing committees for this exciting event. They praised the students for their remarkable achievements, reflecting advanced results in local competitions, showcasing the university's strength in proposing and hosting such prestigious events. Al-Nabulsi emphasized the university's wholehearted support for such competitions, recognizing their pivotal role in shaping the future of robotics. He highlighted the significance of forming teams, competing, and interacting with students from various Jordanian universities to accumulate experiences, fostering the creation of future teams capable of innovation in this dynamic field. He also commended the outstanding efforts of the organizing committees. The competition featured five coveted awards, with the results as follows: First Place: Hysteria Team from Al-Ahliyya Amman University. Second Place: SLR Team from Al-Balqa Applied University. Third Place: Circuit Breakers Team from Al-Ahliyya Amman University. In addition, the Hysteria Team from our university and Tufan Just Team from the University of Science and Technology received the Best Equal Programming Award, while the Nema Team from Yarmouk University earned the Best Mechanical Design Award.
