Open Day Activities at Al-Ahliyya Amman University
The activities of the open day organized by the University were inaugurated under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sadeq Hamed, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University. The ceremony was commenced with the national anthem followed by reciting verses from the Holy Quran. The President of the University delivered a speech in which he welcomed the attendees and participants in the events of this day celebrated by the University. The University is thrilled to host the attendants and participants in this day, he noted. Dr. Hamed stated that this open day is a day of joy that highlights teamwork between the students, faculty members and administrators. This day is remarked by active participation by the University students and staff, he added. Dr. Hamed expressed his gratitude and appreciation for all efforts made to ensure the success of such activities. Dr. Fawzi Taima, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Community Service and Activities and Dean of the Faculty of Arts, delivered a speech in which he expressed his admiration for the enormous energies embraced by the University through its young students who move ahead unwary of traditional barriers. Dr. Taima stressed that recreational activities have an important and vital role in the renewal of energy and group skills development. He also praised the guidance and ongoing support bestowed by the President of the University, Dr. Sadeq Hamed, who had the greatest impact in raising the level of teamwork. The open day included a bazaar for raising fund for destitute families and patients. The public security musical band participated with national chants and shows that roamed the roads of the University and were well-received by the audience. On the sidelines of the open day, several events were held, including the free medical day, cultural competitions, the most beautiful rose contest, book exhibition held with the participation of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and family library exhibition held with the participation of the Faculty of Law. Students also performed comic and art sketches. At the closing ceremony, the University band presented a number of songs. The sponsor of the event presented awards to the winning teams in the competitions. The open day events were attended by the Iraqi Cultural Attaché, Dr. Mohammed Al-Abbosi, guests from the local community and a large gathering of faculty and administrative bodies and the University students.
