On the Occasion of World Youth Day, Al-Ahliyya Amman University Organizes an Awareness Visit to the Anti-Narcotics Department

On the occasion of World Youth Day, and as part of Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s commitment to raising awareness among its students and fostering a culture of social responsibility, the Deanship of Student Affairs organized a field visit to the Anti-Narcotics Department on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, with the participation of a number of university students. The visit was organized in recognition of the importance of empowering young people with knowledge and awareness, strengthening their role in protecting themselves and their communities from the scourge of drugs, and fostering partnerships with national and security institutions to promote preventive awareness among young people. The visit included an awareness and guidance lecture delivered by specialists from the Anti-Narcotics Department. The lecture covered the main types of narcotic substances and psychotropic substances, their health, social, and psychological effects, as well as the Department’s efforts to combat this scourge, methods of prevention, and procedures for reporting and dealing with drug-related cases. The students also toured the permanent exhibition at the Anti-Narcotics Department, which features illustrative samples of narcotic substances and methods of smuggling them. They were also given a detailed explanation of the methods used by drug dealers to target young people. The visit aimed to raise awareness among youth, enhance their ability to protect themselves, and encourage them to make sound and informed decisions. This visit is part of a series of awareness programmes and activities organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, in line with the University’s mission of preparing responsible and aware young people who are capable of contributing to building a safe and healthy society. It also reflects the message of World Youth Day by empowering young people and strengthening their role as active partners in development and in serving their nation.
