Omani Delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Visits AAU to Enhance Academic and Research Cooperation

Professor Sari Hamdan, our president, warmly received a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation of the Sultanate of Oman. The delegation included Mr. Al-Nasr bin Nasser Al-Ruqeishi, Director of the Qualification Recognition Department, and Mr. Abdullah bin Salem Al-Badi, Head of the Higher Education Recognition Department, accompanied by Mr. Salem Al-Wahaibi, the First Secretary responsible for the Cultural Section at the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Jordan. The meeting, attended by Professor Mosleh Al-Tarawneh, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Anas Al-Soud, Vice President for International Relations and Quality Affairs, and Mr. Mohammed Al-Qaqaa, Director of the Admission and Registration Department, focused on the deep historical ties between the two brotherly countries and the importance of advancing these relationships in various sectors, particularly in higher education and scientific research, along with the exchange of students and faculty members. Professor Hamdan expressed his appreciation for the robust bilateral relations between Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman, emphasizing the significant role that academic cooperation plays in enhancing mutual understanding and cultural exchange between the peoples of the two nations. Mr. Al-Nasr bin Nasser Al-Ruqeishi confirmed his country's commitment to providing the necessary support to achieve the objectives of this bilateral cooperation. The discussions covered topics related to the academic programs and degrees offered at the university for Omani students. Professor Anas Al-Soud provided a detailed presentation about AAU, highlighting its history as Jordan's first private university, its strategic plan, vision, faculties, centers, programs, and future initiatives. He noted that the university has recently been ranked among the top universities worldwide in three specialties according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject, including Hospitality and Leisure Management ranked 101-150, Arts and Humanities ranked 451-500, and Computer Science and Information Systems ranked 651-700. The visit included a tour of several university facilities, such as the Faculty of Dentistry, where they were greeted by the Dean, Professor Yazan Hasooneh. The delegation explored the faculty’s academic and training programs and facilities. At the conclusion of the visit, Professor Hamdan presented the visiting delegation with a commemorative university shield in appreciation of their significant visit.
