Nursing Faculty at AAU Welcomes a WHO Representative
The Faculty of Nursing at our AAU, led by Dean Prof. Iman Al-Nazli, welcomed WHO Representative Pharmacist Rasha Manasra, a Tobacco Control Officer, to discuss the implementation of the "Wellness Ambassadors" program.
This initiative marks a significant step toward engaging youth in community service and enhancing universities' role in promoting public health. The program aims to prepare a new generation of influential young leaders in public health by encouraging their involvement in social activities and raising awareness about the harmful effects of smoking on public health and the environment.
Through this program, AAU, represented by the Women’s Health Center within the Faculty of Nursing, seeks to reinforce its leading role in health education. Pharmacist Haneen Momani, from the center, has been appointed as the liaison officer for the project.
Attendees discussed strategies to implement the program, enhance the university's role in raising awareness about smoking risks, and inspire youth to actively participate in safeguarding public health and contributing to a society that values disease prevention and health awareness.
