Muhammad Sabri and Shaheerah Al-Ruhaimi Rank the First in the Second Prize of the Late Dr. Ahmad Al-Horani for Reciting and Mastering the Holy Quran for Students Enrolled in the Jordanian Universities
The AAU Deanship of Student Affairs organized the prize of the Late Dr. Ahmad Al-Horani for reciting and mastering the Holy Quran for students enrolled in the Jordanian universities. This event took place on Thursday, 8/2/2018.The prize which was held for the second consecutive year included 37 male students and 30 female students from the following 21 public and private universities: Muta University, Princess Sumaya for Technology University, Al-Hashimyah University, Al-Zarqa Private University, Ajloun National University, Al-Al Bayt University, Yarmouk University, Amman Arab University, the German Jordanian University, Al-Balqa Applied University, Petra University, Applied Sciences University, Al-Israa University, Philadelphia University, Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, Tafila Technical University, University of Jordan, Islamic Sciences University and Al-Ahliyya Amman University. The winners among the two categories obtained a cash prize of 1000 JD for the first winner, 750 JD for the second winner and 500 JD for the third winner. The male jury panel included Dr. Abed Al-Hameed Al-Kurdi from AAU as a chairman and Dr. Muhammad Al-Tarairah from the Applied Sciences University as a member, Mr. Ahmad Al-Quqa (the Head of the Department of Readings in the Association of Preserving the Holy Quran). As for the female jury panel, it was headed by Dr. Asma Al-Omari from AAU and it included the following members: Dr. Najwa Qaraqeesh from Al-Zarqa Private University and Dr. Zainab Al-Qudah from the University of Jordan. The criteria which the jury referred to for selecting the first three ranks included the following: good performance, mastering reciting and tajweed, the beauty of voice, interaction with the Quranic Ayat and posing and starting. The following names ranked the first: Muhammad Shahid Sabri and Shaheerah Ahmad Al-Ruhaimi from the Islamic Sciences University. The second rank was achieved by Salah Al-Dein Aqbed Al-Razaq from the University of Jordan and Haneen Naser Al-Taei from the Islamic Sciences University. As for the third rank, it included Abed Al-Aziz Al-Nuaimi from AAU and Sara Marwan Suleiman from the University of Jordan.At the end of the competition, Prof. Sadeq Hamed, the AAU President, Dr. Mustafa Atyiat, the Dean of Student affairs along with Mrs Enas Al-Horani, a member of the University Council of Trustees distributed certificates and prizes to the winning participants and those who participated in the competition. They also handed souvenir shields to the jury panel members.
