MoU Between Al-Ahliyya Amman University and the Arab Academy of Hearing and Balance

Al-Ahliyya Amman University recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Arab Academy of Hearing and Balance, based in Amman, to promote continuous medical education, enhance professional standards, and raise community awareness. The agreement was signed by Prof. Sari Hamdan, our University President, and Dr. Khaled Abdul Hadi, President of the Academy. The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Ghaleb Uraikat, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences; Dr. Fadi Al-Suwaity, Head of the Hearing and Speech Department; and Dr. Mohammad Al-Masri, Head of the Audiology and Balance Department and Secretary-General of the Academy. Al-Ahliyya Amman University stands out as the first and only Arab university to launch a Master's program in Audiology, marking an educational milestone in the Arab world and the Middle East. The university also offers a unique Master's program in Speech Therapy, alongside a Bachelor's program in Hearing and Speech. The university’s Hearing and Speech Center, accredited by the Jordanian Ministry of Health, serves as a training hub and is endorsed by institutions like Germany's Lübeck University and the British Academy. Moreover, the university organizes an annual International Conference on Hearing and Balance Health in collaboration with the Arab Academy of Hearing and Balance and Lübeck University, with the 11th conference scheduled for April next year. Prof. Sari Hamdan highlighted that the MoU aligns with the university's pursuit of academic excellence in graduate studies and fosters partnerships with global educational institutions. He noted the university’s QS Arab 2025 ranking as the top private university in Jordan and 43rd across the Arab world. This achievement has opened new opportunities for specialists from Arab countries to join the university’s programs instead of seeking education abroad. The agreement also emphasizes establishing training centers across Arab countries, with the Arab Academy overseeing their accreditation based on standards set by the university and Jordan's Ministry of Higher Education. Additionally, the Academy collaborates with the American Academy of Audiology, the British Academy, and Lübeck University, among others.
