MOU between AAU and Injaz

Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU), represented by its president Professor Sadek Hamed, and Injaz, represented by its Executive President Mrs. Dema Bebe, have signed a memorandum of understanding to support student activities geared towards developing their potentials and expanding their opportunities to enter the market with suitable skills and qualifications. The memorandum is meant to implement the Injaz programs targeting the University youth through the liaison officer from the King Abdulla II Fund for Development and the services of the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Community Service Center at the University. When the community service course is applied, AAU will adopt Injaz courses as electives within the graduation requirements. Injaz will implement its programs by providing qualified volunteers to introduce them. Professor Sadek Hamed welcomed Mrs. Dema Bebe, the Executive Manager of Injaz, and the team accompanying her. He reviewed AAUs progress, goals and vision of the teaching and administrative processes. He also emphasized the Universitys strong support for extracurricular activities and the pioneer projects adopted to upgrade the standard of its graduates and prepare and qualify them to be the future leaders and makers. He stressed the University administration’s full cooperation with the distinguished efforts exerted by Injaz, and its willingness to do whatever is within its power to bring these efforts to fruition. Mrs. Bebe confirmed the importance of this partnership between AAU and Injaz, looking forward to common activities and programs which will benefit the students and thus reflect positively on the Jordanian economy as well. She added that the relationship between the University and Injaz has resulted in many accomplishments, including a range of leading projects that will be participating in the Injaz competition for leading projects to be held at the end of this year. Moreover, this cooperation has resulted in establishing a company by AAU students who had benefited from the Injaz program carried out at the University. Important Information: • AAU: Founded in 1990, AAU is a pioneer of private education in Jordan since it was the first private university to be established in the country. AAU has been accorded institutional and programmatic accreditation. It is a member of the International Association of Universities, Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, Union of Arab Universities and Association of Arab Private Institutions of Higher Education. AAU always seeks distinction by upgrading learning outcomes through the adoption of methods and strategies that depend on a system of quality control and effective follow-up at all its faculties, departments, centers and administrative units. AAU’s overall aim is to become a flagship university not only at the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan level but also at the Arab World level. In this vein, AAU has adopted Information Technology as an essential ingredient in its activities, especially e-learning, and it has incorporated it in its educational processes in all fields of specialization to become the first such university to do so. • Injaz: Supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Injaz began its work in 1999 as a program aimed at stimulating and preparing Jordanian youth to become active members of their community and succeed in their careers. Injaz was launched in 2001, under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah, to become an independent non-profit Jordanian institution. For more than 10 years over 650,000 students from schools and universities all over the Kingdom’s governorates have benefited from the Foundations programs.
