Minister of Political Development delivers a lecture at Al-Ahliyya Amman University

Under the auspices of HE Prof. Dr. Maher Saleem, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, the Deanship of Student Affairs organized a lecture entitled “The Upcoming Parliamentary Elections”, which was delivered by His Excellency Engineer Musa Maaytah, Minister of Political Development, in the presence of a number of deans, faculty members, administrators, and a large gathering of students. HE Engineer Musa Maaytah stated that young people in Jordan constitute a large proportion of the population, and that it is an efficient and promising category. The youth is entrusted with heavy responsibilities for the construction of the nation's march in all fields, he added. Eng. Maaytah stressed that the youth has the support and attention of His Majesty the King. In his lecture, His Excellency the Minister called young people to participate in elections effectively and strongly and encourage others to participate in the elections in order to have a Parliament that rises to national ambitions and that is able to assume responsibility. In his lecture, Maaytah also reviewed the features of the new election law in terms of constitutions, number of seats, the increased women quota, and the appointment of judges to supervise the elections. Maaytah stressed the need to fight political money and augment punishment of convicted perpetrators. He pointed out that Jordan has chosen this electoral pattern to achieve the higher interest of the nation. At in the end of the lecture, the Minister of Political Development answered questions raised by the audience. Prof. Dr. Maher Saleem, President of the University, delivered the University Shield as commemorative gift to His Excellency Engineer Musa Maaytah, Minister of Political Development.
