Ma’ani opens Admission and Registration Department and Certificates Ratification Office in Al-Ahliyya Amman University

Salt, Islam Nsour: The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Walid Maani, opened the Admission and Registration Department and Certificates Ratification Office in Al-Ahliyya Amman University at a cost of 900 thousand dinars, and a total area of 1800 square meters. Dr. Maani pointed out that there are specializations in the public and private universities that need to be re-examined. Some of these disciplines need to be closed while some others may continue based on the increased demand and the need for these disciplines in the domestic market. Dr. Maani and the President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Dr. Maher Saleem, signed an agreement to accredit Al-Ahliyya Amman University as a location approved by the Ministry of Higher Education for ratification of certificates and official documents to in order to serve the public and provide, simplify and facilitate services to applicants in public interest. Dr. Maher Saleem said that the opening of the Admission and Registration Department and Certificates Ratification Office is designed to serve the local community, especially students of public and private universities in the Balqa governorate. Dr Saleem noted that the Admission and Registration Department was established through advanced technologies that include on- and off-campus electronic registration. The Department is provided with the latest electronic registration technology, including online guidance service and online registration and enables the various faculty members to check out the academic records of the students. Dr. Saleem stated that the Admission and Registration Department provides electronic means that may be used by the parents of the students to connect with the University and review the academic performance of their children. He pointed out that the Department includes display screens, in addition to the display screens that are available in all faculties to address the students electronically and advertise curricular and extracurricular academic activities. He noted out that the University, through a specialized center, is in the process of converting the content of courses to e-content and presenting courses through the combined learning method which is based on a student-centered education. E-learning systems and e-courses are linked with the registration system through an e-portal that allows users, including professors and students, to access their information and use such information within the powers authorized to them.
