Lecture on “Role of the Audit Bureau in Maintaining Public Funds” at Al-Ahliyya Amman University

In the presence of Prof. Dr. Maher Saleem, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, faculty members, administrators, and a large gathering of students, Dr. Mustafa Barari, Head of the Audit Bureau, gave a lecture entitled “Role of the Audit Bureau in Maintaining Public Funds”. He started the lecture with a briefing on the establishment, historical development and the supervisory role of the Audit Bureau in maintaining public funds. He stated that the Audit Bureau seeks to restructure its organizational structure to build a control institution on scientific and universal grounds. The Audit Bureau constantly seeks to implement and manage its tasks in an optimal manner to control public funds, in terms of expenditure management and revenue inventory based on the Jordanian Constitution. Article 119 of the Constitution provides for forming an audit bureau as an independent administrative body under the administrative control of the Council of Ministers, reporting to the House of Representatives. The audience engaged in discussion, during which Dr. Barari answered all inquiries of the audience. At the end of the meeting, Dr. Mustafa Barari extended his heartfelt thanks to the University administration, represented by its president, Prof. Dr. Maher Saleem, for the warm reception, hospitality and for the invitation to give a lecture, which demonstrates the University's interest in continuous communication with the local community institutions.
