Launch of Final Phase of National Artificial Intelligence Modeling Competition at AAU
The final phase of the National Artificial Intelligence Modeling Competition (IEEE Jordan AI Modeling Hackathon 1.0) was launched at Al-Ahliyya Amman University in collaboration with the IEEE Jordan Section and with wide participation from various Jordanian universities.
The opening ceremony was patronized by Prof. Sari Hamdan, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, and attended by Dr. Musa Al-Akhras, Chair of IEEE Jordan Section; Prof. Bashar Al-Tarawneh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Dean of the College of Technical Education; Prof. Mohammed Al-Qatawneh, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology; and a number of faculty members from Al-Ahliyya Amman University and other Jordanian universities.
At the outset of the ceremony, Prof. Bashar Al-Tarawneh welcomed the participants and attendees, emphasizing the importance of this competition in strengthening students’ skills in the fields of artificial intelligence and computer modeling. He also commended the role of IEEE in supporting student initiatives that help hone technical talents and foster a spirit of innovation.
Prof. Al-Tarawneh explained that this competition provides a unique platform for exchanging knowledge and expertise among students from different universities, thereby strengthening constructive competition and teamwork.
For his part, Dr. Musa Al-Akhras expressed his happiness with the remarkable performance demonstrated by participating students. He stated that this year’s competition has shown a significant improvement in the quality of submitted projects, reflecting the great progress made by Jordanian universities in the field of artificial intelligence.
In his speech, Prof. Sari Hamdan expressed his immense Pride in Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s role in hosting this distinguished scientific event. He stressed the University’s ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that empower students in the fields of modern technology.
