Jordanian Academy from Al-Ahliyya Amman University Wins Hamad Medical Corporation Award in Qatar

Dr. Mayada Wathaefi of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences at Al-Ahliyya Amman University won, together with her team, first place in Hamad Medical Corporation Award, Doha, Qatar, on the annual day of scientific research held by the Corporation. The team presented a paper entitled “The Extent of Doctors Awareness, Experience and Expectations of Pharmacists for the Profession of Clinical Pharmacy” published in the Journal of Multidisciplinary Healthcare. The research, which was chosen among the best 30 scientific medical papers, is based on the development of the profession of clinical pharmacy, addresses obstacles to the profession and ways to overcome these obstacles to improve the quality of services provided to patients, given that pharmacy practice is complementary to doctors role. The research focuses on the obstacles faced by clinical pharmacists and doctors in hospitals and primary health care centers through a survey conducted by 500 doctors in five hospitals in Qatar. The survey aims to highlight the importance of the role of clinical pharmacists from the viewpoint of doctors during their medical rounds among patients.
