Interfaculty Football Championship at Al-Ahliyya Amman University

On the occasion of the University celebrations of the Battle of Karama anniversary, Deanship of Student Affairs /Division of Sports Activity held a Football Championship with a wide participation by the various faculties and departments of the University in the presence of a large gathering of students. The Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences and the Faculty of Nursing have qualified to the final match. A wide range of students participated in this Championship which provide an opportunity for competition among faculties in a positive atmosphere promoted by the University administration in an effort to occupy students’ leisure time in sports competitions that support university teams and the football team of the University. Dean of Student Affairs, Mohammed Mubaideen, noted that this tournament has seen significant competition from the participating teams, which reflected sportsmanship shown by the students of the faculties. He praised the efforts of the faculties management in supporting the implementation and success of sports activities that have good impact among students. Dr. Mubaideen stressed the importance of sports and extracurricular activities in students lives and progress and its health, physical, psychological, and social benefits. He also noted the University s keenness to provide the required facilities and playgrounds. Dean of Student Affairs crowned the team of the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences as champion of this Championship after winning over the nursing team by 3/2 in an exciting match. Student Waseem Mutee received best player award of the Championship, while student Mohamed Aqrabawi won best goalkeeper award. At the end of the match, Dean of Student Affairs presented bronze, silver and gold medals and the trophy to the winners.
