Innovation Day at Al-Ahliyya Amman University Features Leading Experts in Artificial Intelligence and Entrepreneurship

As part of Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s strategic vision to foster creativity and technological innovation, and its ongoing commitment to developing students’ practical skills in line with the rapidly evolving job market, the Faculty of Information Technology organized the “Innovation Day” event. The activity was held under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, and attended by Vice President for Academic Affairs / Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ahmad Hamdan, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Qatawneh, along with several deans from other faculties, and a large number of academic and administrative staff and students. The event commenced with a welcoming speech by the Dean of the Faculty, who emphasized the importance of promoting a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship among students, highlighting the vital role of the faculty in developing students’ digital and professional skills in alignment with labor market needs. During the event, a group of students who successfully completed advanced training courses in CTF (Capture the Flag) and SOC (Security Operations Center) were honored in recognition of their outstanding performance in these specialized technical fields. Shields of appreciation were also presented to the event’s guest speakers. A highlight of the event was a distinguished panel discussion titled: "Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Jobs: Developing Essential Skills for the Modern Labor Market." The session was moderated by Dr. Ahmad Al-Shamayleh and featured prominent speakers: • Eng. Amer Hamdan • Eng. Hossam Al-Hourani • Eng. Layan Musalhi • Eng. Rawan Musalhi • Eng. Abdullah Abu Alayan • Eng. Issa Mahasneh The discussion was dynamic and well-received, engaging the audience with insights into the latest advancements in artificial intelligence and technology, and exploring strategies to equip students with the skills needed to thrive in the digital economy. This initiative reflects the university’s continued dedication to providing an academic environment that stimulates creativity and innovation, and supports students in their journey toward excellence and leadership. The Innovation Day program included a variety of specialized activities and events, most notably a hands-on SKIL GAIN introductory workshop, which highlighted essential technical skills required in the field of information technology and discussed practical approaches to enhancing these skills through training. The program also featured a scientific competition in data science and artificial intelligence, which saw wide participation from students of the faculty and offered them a platform to showcase their capabilities in these advanced areas. In a spirit of community building, a friendly football match was held on campus, bringing together students from various academic programs and strengthening teamwork and extracurricular engagement. Additionally, a comprehensive technology exhibition was organized, with participation from local tech companies and organizations, as well as student clubs showcasing innovative start-up projects. The exhibition provided a dynamic platform for interaction, idea exchange, and collaboration within the academic and industrial communities.
