In an Interview with Jordan Television, Prof. Dr. Hamdan: Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s Academic Programs Are Aligned with the Rapidly Evolving Labor Market

In an interview with Jordan Television’s “Yis‘ad Sabahak” program, Acting President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Professor Dr. Ahmad Hamdan, highlighted the University’s local and global presence in international rankings, particularly the Times Higher Education and QS rankings. He noted that the University is ranked among the top 500 universities worldwide and is among the leading universities in Jordan, ranking 401–500 globally in the Times Higher Education rankings and 643 globally in the QS World University Rankings. He described these achievements as a source of pride for the University and the nation. The interview was attended by the top-performing students in the 2026 General Secondary Education Certificate examination. Professor Dr. Ahmad Hamdan commended the students for their achievements and praised the role of their families in supporting them and helping them attain academic excellence in the General Secondary Education Certificate examination. He emphasized the importance of taking students’ interests and aspirations into consideration when choosing their university majors, while also encouraging them to consider emerging fields that are in demand in the labor market amid the rapid development of artificial intelligence and technology. He stressed that students should acquire the skills required by the labor market alongside their university degrees. He further explained that, guided by the Royal directives emphasizing technical education and food security, Al-Ahliyya Amman University has placed significant emphasis on these areas by introducing modern programs in technical education, food technology and manufacturing, and sports sciences, as well as programs in engineering, BTEC, business, cybersecurity, data analytics, and health and medical fields. He also noted that the University has integrated artificial intelligence across all academic disciplines.
