Hammad Wins Gold at the World Karate League and Shines as a New Star for AAU Student Achievements
Abdullah Hammad, a student from the Faculty of Educational Sciences and a member of both the national team and AAU’s karate team, won the gold medal in the under 60 kg category at the third round of the World Karate League held in Cairo, Egypt. Hammad led his group in the first round by winning three matches, then defeated the world's top-ranked Greek player in the quarter-finals with a score of 4-3, and surpassed the second-ranked Kuwaiti player in the under 60 kg category in the semi-finals with a score of 5-0. In the final bout, AAU's karate champion, Abdullah Hammad, clinched the under 60 kg gold medal at the World Karate League by defeating a Japanese competitor with a score of 9-6 in a highly competitive and thrilling match.
AAU community, represented by the university president, Professor Sari Hamdan, extends congratulations to student Abdullah Hammad on this significant achievement for Jordanian sports, wishing him further success on the Arab, Asian, and international levels.
