For the Fourth Consecutive Year, AAU Tops Jordanian Universities in Times Higher Education Impact Rankings

Al-Ahliyya Amman University has once again been named the top university in Jordan, both public and private, in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2024. The university also secured the eleventh position among Arab institutions and was placed in the 201-300 category globally. This year’s rankings assessed over 2,000 universities worldwide, marking a 25% increase in participants from the previous year. A standout achievement for our AAU was its global ranking of 20th in Quality Education and 57th in Reducing Inequality. Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, extended his congratulations to the university's leadership and community for this notable accomplishment in the Times Higher Education global rankings. This accolade follows closely on the heels of the university's recent success in the QS global rankings. University President Professor Sari Hamdan praised the faculty, administrative staff, students, and alumni for their contributions to this achievement. He highlighted the university's exceptional performance, particularly in the Quality Education criterion, which evaluates factors such as scientific research, graduate qualifications, lifelong learning, and the promotion of education across generations. Vice President for International Relations and Quality, Professor Anas Al-Soud, emphasized that this ranking underscores the university's global vision and unwavering commitment to international standards for sustainable development goals. He also noted the importance of fostering collaborative relationships with institutions worldwide. Eighteen Jordanian universities were included in this year’s rankings, which assess institutions based on their efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.
