First Graduating Batch of CyberSecurity Center Trainees at Al-Ahliyya Amman University

Al-Ahliyya Amman University Cybersecurity Center organized a graduation ceremony for students of the first batch of cybersecurity training courses held in cooperation with Umniah Cyber Security Academy on Thursday, 16-9-2021 at the Hourani Auditorium.The three courses aimed at qualifying students for the labor market, developing their technical capabilities, and introducing them to the concept of cybersecurity and the risks of potential and anticipated threats to the economies of the world's countries and companies of all types and sizes. Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, President of the University, spoke about the importance of investing in cybersecurity and linking it with various professions and specialties, and not limiting it to a specific profession or specialization. The President stressed the importance of partnering with the local community for the benefit of students in modern fields. He lauded the efforts exerted by Umniah Telecom for advancing Jordan in the field of cybersecurity by creating public awareness about cyber threats and their risks, and the importance of addressing them. Mr. Nader Sweidan, Director of the Center, gave a presentation on the Center and its foundation and objectives, and talked about the partnership with Umniah Telecom and the courses offered in the coming period.Eng. Amjad Faruqa, Executive Director of Umniah Quality Management, Information Security, and Work continuity, said: We, in Umniah, believe in the importance of building and strengthening national capacities to address cyber threats, which we are witnessing their noticeable proliferation, and which are impeding information systems and infrastructure. So, the founding of a specialized academy in cybersecurity came to put the sum of our team's expertise in this field in the hands of students, so that they can enter the labor market armed with the necessary qualifications to serve their country and protect its accomplishments in the best way possible.At the end of the ceremony, which was attended by Vice President for E-Learning, Prof. Dr. Khalid Al-Kaabana and Assistant President for Foreign Affairs Dr. Anas Al Saud, certificates and souvenirs were awarded to graduates and trainers participating in the courses.
