Faculty of Nursing holds a meeting with the Innovation Laboratory for Future Nutrition in Jordan
Believing in the importance of community participation and cooperation with local and international authorities to provide community service and develop cadres and students, the Faculty of Nursing, represented by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Montaha Al Gharaiba, organized and held a meeting through Zoom in the presence of faculty members from the faculties of nursing, pharmacy and supporting medical sciences at the university with the Innovation Laboratory for Future Nutrition in Jordan (JNIL), on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 as part of the Nutrition of the Future initiative, Funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).JNIL aims to provide evidence on the impact of the USAID-backed Community Health and Nutrition Program (CHN) and build academic capacity to support research on health and nutritional status for pregnant and nursing women and children under the age of two in Jordan.JNIL will achieve these goals through careful research and capacity-building activities in maternal and infant nutrition (MIYCN).Tufts University's Friedman School of Science and Nutrition Policy has been an administrative entity of the Nutrition Innovation Laboratory since October 2010.Representatives of the project conducted a presentation at the meeting on their upcoming activities - a workshop on nutrition research designs and methods (August 6-11, 2022 in Jerash), designed to support Jordanian researchers and future scientists through intensive training in research methodology and enhancing their skills. The second activity is the first National Scientific Conference (August 16-18, 2022 in Amman), which aims to bring together government and non-governmental stakeholders, regional and international scientists, academics, researchers, students and program specialists to promote the exchange, understanding and adoption of well-established scientific evidence on the nutrition and health of mothers and young children in Jordan.
