Faculty of Engineering students at Al-Ahliyya Amman University innovate a device for (testing ignition resistance of electrical products) for the national industry
A research team from the Faculty of Engineering at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, consisting of Mustafa Munther Aqad and Al-Abbas Ghazi Fitiyani, designed an electronic device called (Glow Wire Test Apparatus), which they presented to a local factory (Arab Company for Electrical Industries), under the supervision of Engineer Bashar Nazeeh, and co-supervision of Dr. Zakaria Omari. This device is used to test the flammability of electrical products and parts for the purpose of obtaining quality certification according to international standards. This device is designed according to modern engineering methods that are sensitive to remote control and digital control of voltage, which in turn helps in the concise control of circuits (up to 160 Amp.). This aims to achieve the required purpose of the device, which is intended to be equivalent to the devices available in the global market, which cost Fifteen Thousand U.S. dollars. This device was designed within the program prepared by Amman Chamber of Industry known as (Connecting Engineering Graduation Projects to the Industrial Sector), which aims to implement the graduation projects based on the actual needs of the Jordanian industry, within the directions of the Faculty of Engineering at Al-Ahliyya Amman University. This achievement reinforces mutual trust between the industrial and productive sectors and Jordanian universities, which would increase their cooperation to achieve further accomplishments and make use of the creative energies available in Jordanian universities.
