Faculty of Arts and Sciences Holds First Advisory Board Meeting for the Academic Year 2025/2026

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences held its first Advisory Council meeting for the 2025–2026 academic year on Monday, December 22, 2025, chaired by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Linda AlKhawaja. The meeting was attended by representatives of the local community and employers, a distinguished group of alumni and students, as well as the Vice Deans and Heads of Academic Departments. The meeting opened with welcoming remarks by the Dean, who emphasized the strategic importance of the Advisory Council in identifying students’ needs and future aspirations, strengthening partnerships with the local community, and contributing to the development of the educational system in line with rapid changes and the real demands of the labor market. The Council reviewed the Faculty’s academic offerings, along with recent updates to study plans, laboratories, infrastructure, and logistical support. The agenda also featured discussions on the launch of new academic programs related to the digital world, designed to respond to accelerating digital transformation and to meet different institutional needs. These initiatives were highly commended by Council members, who viewed them as vital, future-oriented specializations with strong professional relevance. The meeting witnessed active participation from local community representatives, including Dr. Ghada Amer, Head of the Committees and Examinations Division at the Ministry of Health, who offered valuable insights on aligning academic programs with professional accreditation requirements. She highlighted the importance of equipping students with practical and professional competencies, raising awareness of professional licensing, and enhancing career readiness. The session also included discussions on strengthening field training and applied learning components within academic programs. The meeting concluded with constructive proposals from alumni and students aimed at further developing practical and technical skills to ensure strong and effective integration into the labor market.
