Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences Conducts Informative Visit to the National Women's Committees Association in Balqa

A delegation from the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences conducted an enlightening visit to the headquarters of the National Women's Committees Association in Balqa on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Dr. Talal Al Qaisi inaugurated the session with an introduction to the faculty’s nine academic programs, encompassing specialized medical support disciplines such as Medical Laboratory Sciences, Audiology and Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, Optometry, Cosmetology, and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. He underscored the faculty's community services, including audiology and speech clinics, pivotal to the university's recognition with the 2023 Times Higher Education Award for Outstanding Contribution to Regional Development in the Middle East and North Africa. Dr. Hala Al Daghistani addressed the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori, the bacterium causing stomach ulcers in Jordan, detailing its symptoms, its connection to stomach cancer, preventive measures, treatment, and pivotal research outcomes. Subsequently, Professor Dr. Manal Ahmed Abbas and Dr. Khaled Abdel Aziz delved into topics related to insulin resistance, diabetes, diagnostic laboratory tests, preventive strategies, and treatment. Notably, our University has achieved remarkable strides across various global rankings. Earlier this year, the QS World University Rankings positioned our AAU as the top private university in Jordan.
