Faculty of Agricultural Technology Participates in Agri-Food Innovation Hackathon

A group of students from the Agricultural Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering program at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology participated in the Agri-Food Innovation Hackathon. This scientific and entrepreneurial experience aimed to develop innovative solutions to challenges facing the agricultural sector and food security. The team participated under Track (B) with the theme “From Waste to Value,” led by student Rahaf Jihad Al-Shiyab, alongside students Manar Al-Amayreh and Omar Al-Bass, and alumna Khuzama Al-Tawahiyah. The team worked within a dynamic and competitive environment that included training sessions, workshops, and specialized mentorship, culminating in the development of practical and implementable project ideas. The hackathon focused on agricultural innovation, reducing food loss and waste, enhancing sustainability, and linking scientific research with practical solutions, thereby contributing to strengthening food security systems and sustainable development. This participation reflects Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s commitment, through the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, to empowering its students, enhancing their research and innovation skills, and encouraging their engagement in national and international initiatives that serve the community and the agricultural sector, while preparing a generation of leaders capable of making a positive future impact.
