Faculty of Agricultural Technology Conducts Scientific Visit to explore Modern Biotechnology Applications at the Alestesharia for Poultry and Feed

The Faculty of Agricultural Technology organized a scientific trip to the Alestesharia for Poultry and Feed located in the Al-Qastal area. The visit aimed to introduce students to the applications of modern biotechnology and genetic engineering in the production of vitamins, minerals, rare elements, and other additives included in animal feed as premixes to supplement the nutritional needs of livestock. Twenty students specializing in Agricultural Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering participated in the visit, accompanied by the Animal Biotechnology instructor, Dr. Raed Al-Atiyat, and the laboratory supervisor, engineer Farah Abu Sayyam. During a tour of the company’s facilities, the Production Manager, Engineer Hussein Hweileh, provided a detailed explanation of the products and their manufacturing methods, whether chemical or biological using genetically modified organisms, as well as the preservation and packaging processes within the factory. Students were introduced to the concept of premix feed blends and their importance in animal nutrition for improving productivity and preventing certain diseases. The visit also included a tour of the feed analysis laboratory, where students observed the equipment used and the procedures for testing and analyzing samples.
