Dr. Maher Al-Hourani Patronizes the Opening of the "Bridge" International Universities Fair at Al-Ahliyya Amman University

Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, patronized the opening ceremony of the Bridge International Universities Fair, organized in collaboration between Al-Ahliyya Amman University and Bridge International for Academic Services. Dr. Al-Hourani, alongside H.E. Prof. Nidal Al-Qatamin, Chairman of the Board of Bridge International, and Prof. Sari Hamdan, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, inaugurated the fair, which hosted representatives from around 16 international universities and educational support institutions, offering programs at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels, in addition to training courses. The ceremony, hosted by Mr. Asem Al-Majali—Director of Public Relations and Marketing at Bridge and a proud graduate of Al-Ahliyya Amman University—began with a speech by University President Prof. Sari Hamdan. He welcomed Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, Prof. Nidal Al-Qatamin, distinguished guests, and participating institutions. In his speech, Prof. Hamdan highlighted the university's legacy, stating: “It is my pleasure to welcome you to Al-Ahliyya Amman University, established in 1989 and launched in 1990 as the first private university in Jordan. It illuminated the higher education landscape in the Kingdom, guided by the visionary leadership of its founder, the late Dr. Ahmad Al-Hourani, who believed deeply in the power of education to build nations.” He further emphasized the university’s current achievements and global standing: “Thanks to the forward-looking vision and unwavering support of Dr. Maher Al-Hourani and the dedication of our academic and administrative staff, Al-Ahliyya Amman University has earned numerous accolades. Notably, the university ranked 2nd locally and 16th in the Arab world in the 2024 Arab Universities Ranking by the Association of Arab Universities. In the 2025 Times Higher Education rankings, it placed 28th among Arab universities and 186th across Asia, excelling particularly in business and economics, where it ranked first among Jordanian universities. It also earned top positions in several academic disciplines, including: • Business, Hospitality, and Tourism: Ranked (401–500) globally • Information Technology, Engineering, Robotics, and AI: Ranked (401–500) globally • Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, and Agricultural Technology: Ranked (601–800) globally In Webometrics 2025, AAU led Jordan’s private universities and ranked 41st in the Arab world. In the QS Arab Region Rankings 2025, the university placed 43rd overall." Prof. Hamdan also presented the university's newly introduced academic programs, designed to meet local and global market demands. At the bachelor’s level, these include: • Doctor of Dental Surgery • Digital Media • Electric Vehicle Engineering • Dental Technology • Occupational Therapy • French and English Languages • Industrial Engineering and Quality Management • Chinese-English and German-English Language Programs At the master’s level: • Structural Engineering and Project Management • Business Technology He also announced the upcoming College of Technical Education, to offer: • Film Production and Digital Media Design • Agricultural Technology • Electric Vehicle Maintenance • Medical Device Technology • Dental Technology Additionally, the university has earned Pearson accreditation in: • Film and Television • Agricultural Technology • Automotive Engineering Prof. Hamdan concluded by stressing the significance of this partnership with Bridge International in establishing joint degree programs with prestigious global universities, facilitating academic exchange, student scholarships, and admissions support. “May we all remain committed to serving our university and our beloved Jordan under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein.” Following Prof. Hamdan’s remarks, H.E. Prof. Nidal Al-Qatamin delivered an impromptu speech praising the university’s progress: “I am impressed by the maturity and development of this academic institution founded by the late Dr. Ahmad Al-Hourani. Al-Ahliyya Amman University is clearly aware of its responsibilities—whether in infrastructure, student needs, accreditation, or global rankings. It is fully capable of engaging with international institutions for joint degree programs and meaningful collaboration.” He further stated: “Private universities in Jordan are no longer secondary to public ones—they are often more dynamic, effective, and better managed. Academic disciplines must be relevant and pioneering both locally and globally. Universities must focus not only on graduation but also on research quality, community engagement, and solving societal challenges.” Prof. Al-Qatamin highlighted Bridge International's 30-year track record and closed his speech by affirming Jordan’s resilience and leadership under the Hashemite monarchy. Dr. Maher Al-Hourani then presented an honorary shield to Prof. Al-Qatamin in recognition of his efforts.
