Dr. Hijazi Discusses Al-Ahliyya Amman University's Leadership in Innovation and Sustainability on SBS Australia

In a special interview on Good Morning Australia, one of the most prominent and widely followed radio programs globally, broadcast by Australia’s national SBS network, Dr. Amer Hijazi, Assistant Professor at Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s Faculty of Engineering and an expert in sustainable smart infrastructure, highlighted the university’s leadership in sustainability. He praised the top management’s dedication to fostering and supporting innovation. Dr. Hijazi emphasized that these initiatives enhance research outcomes and provide tangible solutions to global challenges, reflecting the university's commitment to active engagement on both local and international levels. He noted that Al-Ahliyya Amman University integrates sustainable development principles into its curricula and research projects, focusing on innovation and sustainable infrastructure, contributing to crucial objectives such as sustainable cities and clean energy. Prof. Sari Hamdan, University President, expressed pride in the university’s pioneering role in advancing sustainability. He reaffirmed the university's strategic vision, rooted in innovation and applied research, aimed at addressing environmental, social, and economic challenges effectively. He added that the university strives to rank among the world’s top institutions through sustainable international partnerships and advanced academic programs that align with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including poverty eradication, quality education, gender equality, climate action, and good health. Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, Chairman of the Board of Directors, emphasized the university’s ambition to lead among educational institutions contributing significantly to sustainable development. He highlighted ongoing support for research focused on innovative solutions for sustainability and efforts to create an educational environment meeting modern demands, fostering economic and social progress. The university also diligently expands its international and regional partnerships, underscoring its commitment to achieving developmental goals across all dimensions. It is worth noting that Al-Ahliyya Amman University was the only Arab university included in the Global BIM Education Report 2024, a recognition resulting from strategic partnerships with prestigious Australian universities and collaborations with international organizations.
