Dr. Bashir Al Zoubi Inaugurates a Workshop on Modernization and Development of the Standards of Special Accreditation for the Specialization of Architecture at Al-Ahliyya Amman University

The Chairman of the Higher Education Accreditation ,Dr. Bashir Al Zoubi, inaugurated a workshop on Modernization and Development of the Standards of Special Accreditation for the Specialization of Architecture in Jordanian Universities,which was held at Al-Hourani Center for E-Learning at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, in the presence of the University President,Dr.Sadiq Hamid,representatives of public and private Jordanian Universities , Head of the Architectural Division at the Engineers' Association and a number of practitioners of the profession of architecture in Jordan.Dr.Sadiq Hamid welcomed the attendants at the beginning of the meeting,referring to the exerted efforts to organize these workshops , which aim to enrich the accreditation and quality process in the context of seeking to set special accreditation standards that cope with the future aspirations and updating in line with scientific developments and the needs of the local and international labor market.Dr.Bashir Al Zoubi thanked the University for hosting the workshop,which aimed to discuss the Committee recommendations and consider the accreditation standards of Architecture ,headed by Dr. Mohammed Yagan and membership of Dr.Wael al-Azhari and Dr. Rana Mtarneh, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the University.He emphasized the importance of focusing on the quality of teaching and learning in order to raise the level of higher education at the Universities to increase their competitiveness and cope with global developments in all fields.Dr. Alzoubi talked about reviewing and developing accreditation standards as a first in addition to the importance of classifying and ranking Universities.He talked about the policy of attracting foreign students, which relies on the credibility of the University and students' confidence, emphasizing the need for each University to have an identity and features that distinguish it from other Universities.The committee has completed the workshop and listened to the interventions of the attendants and their views in preparation for examination and adoption of the right ones.
