Delegation of Zahra College for Girls from the Sultanate of Oman visits Al-Ahliyya Amman University
Prof. Sadeq Hamed, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, received a delegation from the College of Zahra for Girls from the Sultanate of Oman, headed by Prof. Sultan Busaidi, Chairman of the Board of Directors. During the meeting, the parties discussed ways of academic cooperation between the two sides. Prof. Hamed stressed that AAU offers various programs and degrees. He noted that the University is now considered an outstanding academic landmark that has gained trust and appreciation locally, regionally and internationally, thanks to the outstanding level of its graduates who are spread across more than seventy countries. During the meeting, Prof. Hamed said that the University sought diligently to reconsider its study plans and academic programs and link them to the needs of the labor market. He added that these programs should keep pace with the new and useful developments in order to raise the level of its graduates. A new set of distinct programs, such as networks, information security, business and e-commerce, electronic engineering, television, and film and theater design have been added to the academic programs of the University. The University is seeking to introduce the undergraduate optics program. Prof. Hamed briefed the delegation about the University's activities and its role in dedicating attention to the Arab students by involving them in various extracurricular activities through the Deanship of Student Affairs. These activities, he confirmed, help develop their personalities and converge cultures among themselves. For his part, Prof. Sultan Busaidi, thanked the President of the University for the warm reception and the University willingness to provide all forms of support to Al-Zahra College. He praised the outstanding academic reputation of the University among the various academic circles. The University has an academic agreement with the Al-Zahra College, under which the diplomas issued by the College are accredited, and bachelor's degrees are awarded to the College students. The College further adopts the plans approved at the University. The meeting was attended by Mr. Iyad Shaaban, Assistant to the President of the University for Quality Affairs.
