Cooperation Program between Al-Ahliyya Amman University and Jordan News Agency (Petra)
Al-Ahliyya Amman University signed a cooperation program with Jordan News Agency (Petra) in order to strengthen partnership and the exchange of expertise and services between the parties. The agreement was signed by the President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, HE Prof. Dr. Sadeq Hamed, and Director General of Jordan News Agency, HE Mr. Faisal Shboul. The program includes providing free comprehensive journalist courses by Jordan News Agency, in addition to technical and editorial advice regarding media publications issued by the University, covering activities and events, and disseminating news and scientific research to faculty members at the University. On the other hand, AAU will offer one scholarship per year in addition to 20 percent discount of credit hour fees for the children of Jordan News Agency workers. The scholarship covers all study years, programs and disciplines throughout the prescribed duration of study. Al-Ahliyya Amman University will also provide free library service for the Agency employees, in addition to exchanging copies of publications and specialized prints issued by the two parties. Each party will add the website address of the other party on its website to review all services provided to both parties. Joint activities will be organized which will include workshops and seminars to benefit from the experience of the cadres of the two parties, in addition to holding scientific, technical and media lectures and participating in the seminars held by the two parties in their respective areas of specialization. The University will invite Jordan News Agency to participate in courses related to languages, humanities, and administrative, accounting and financial sciences for free. Prof. Dr. Hamed noted that the cooperation program with Jordan News Agency will strengthen bonds, support participation and meetings between the two sides, and promote exchange of experience and points of view which is in the interest of both parties. HE Mr. Faisal Shboul highlighted the importance of this program, which seeks to strengthen the relationship with Al-Ahliyya Amman University in view of its originality and distinctive scientific reputation, being the first private university in Jordan.
