Conference of Jordanian Society for Scientific Research opens in cooperation with Al-Ahliyya Amman University

On Saturday, 27 November 2021, former Prime Minister Dr. Adnan Badran, opened the 10th Conference on Scientific Research in Jordan organized by the Jordanian Society for Scientific Research, Leadership, and Creativity, in cooperation with Al-Ahliyya Amman University, and with the participation of a number of officials, researchers, and specialists.Badran called for modifying the study plans, so that students’ graduation and training projects become credit hours that are part of the student’s graduation plan, thus connecting the graduate with the development needs in the Renaissance project of the second centenary.He pointed out that the World Economic Forum's Global Education Quality Index in Davos in 2021 revealed that most Arab countries rank low in the field of quality of education.Badran called for joint action to create the Smart University, which focuses on the latest technologies in teaching and scientific research, and that aims to produce intelligent graduates who make up the leverage of human capital.Dr. Reda Al Khawalda, President of the Association, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, said that the scientific research conference in Jordan, which is held every two years, is the latest of nine previously held conferences. These conferences pledged to serve the scientific research in Jordan and shed light on the hot issues in the various research sectors that concern the country, and which have an impact on its research track.He added that, since its last conference, the Association has organized 24 lectures and symposiums via Zoom Platform. The sixth and seventh economic conferences were held in cooperation with Petra University, in which a distinguished group of specialists in the fields of science and scientific research participated, despite the circumstances which Jordan suffered under the Corona pandemic.The Association also held specialized workshops for its members and for fellow associations. Delegations from the Association visited a number of Jordanian universities and national institutions, with the aim of exchanging expertise and learning about outstanding research and development projects.The President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, stressed the importance of research in the service of the local community, instead of remaining within university campus. Such research should reach the state institutions and applied places to help them solve their problems.He also talked about the efforts of Al-Ahliyya Amman University in supporting and encouraging scientific research by assigning incentives for researchers and by opening the publication door to researchers from outside the university.The chairman of the conference preparatory committee, Dr. Samih Abu Bakar, presented the five themes of the conference: innovation and empowerment, digital curricula and learning, biotechnologies and food security, cities and smart solutions, and the Energy and Water Association.He explained that the conference, which included 40 research papers, aimed to boost participants' awareness of scientific changes in their disciplines and discussed strategic scientific development issues locally, regionally, and globally.On the sidelines of the opening of the conference, a number of sponsors of the conference and scientific research were honored.The Jordanian Society for Scientific Research is working to communicate the conference recommendations to decision makers to capitalize on them in service of the conference targeted sectors.
