Concluding a cooperation agreement between Al-Ahliyya Amman University and Private Sector Project for Women's Health (PSP)
Prof. Dr. Maher Saleem, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, received a delegation from the Private Sector Project for Women's Health (PSP). On the sidelines of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between Al-Ahliyya Amman University and Private Sector Project for Women's Health (PSP), funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which aims to improve women and family health in Jordan. The agreement embodies the University philosophy, vision and strategy, which aims to invest, recruit, and develop an effective partnership with the community institutions so as to enhance the status of the University locally and regionally, and develop the academic, personal, and practical skills and abilities of students. This project is based on an integrated methodology to increase the demand for modern methods of family planning and women's health -related services, enhance health care services and raise the efficiency of the private sector medical services. Prof. Dr. Maher Saleem, President of the University, noted the importance of such partnerships that reflect the need for openness and awareness of the world events, and reflect positively on the student community by bridging the gap between the academic life of students on the one hand, and the working life and the labor market on the other. The President of the University briefed the guests on the efforts to establish and apply quality and quality assurance standards aimed at developing and improving the quality of academic programs and outputs. Dr. Saleem stressed the need to open channels of communication, establish cooperation, and explore other opportunities and mechanisms for cooperation. He stressed the importance of the agreement in opening new horizons. Dr. Rita Level, Project Manager, said that “Over the next two years, the project will organize training courses in cooperation with Al-Ahliyya Amman University on modern family planning methods for the students of the Faculty of Pharmacy. These courses aim to enhance student information and their role in advising and raising awareness about the proper use of family planning methods. Al-Ahliyya Amman University was selected to be the first university to conduct these courses due to its remarkable position and academic reputation and the advanced methodologies adopted by the University”. The agreement was signed for the University by Prof. Dr. Maher Saleem, President of the University, and for Private Sector Project for Women's Health (PSP) by its Manager, Mrs. Rita Level.
