Collaboration Discussion between AAU and UCLA

Professor Sari Hamdan, our president, welcomed Mr. Denis Couturier, Director of Corporate and Custom Programs at UCLA Extension, in the presence of the Vice President of the University for International Relations and Quality Affairs – Director of the Global Engagement Center, Professor Anas Al-Soud, to discuss avenues of continuous collaboration between the two universities to develop educational programs and enhance academic training, specifically UCLA Extension programs. The discussions focused on exploring collaboration opportunities in developing joint programs that benefit from UCLA's extensive expertise. The meeting included a detailed presentation by Professor Anas Al-Soud about the university since its establishment as the first private university in Jordan, encompassing its strategic plan, vision, faculties, centers, programs, and future plans. Couturier emphasized the importance of providing training and continuous learning opportunities for faculty members in Los Angeles and beyond, whether through traditional courses in classrooms or online. In this context, AAU will act as a strategic partner for UCLA Extension, with both parties aiming to enhance education programs and develop work skills for students and faculty members alike. Also present at the meeting were Dr. Saba Nasirat, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Dr. Fayrouz Abu Suweilam, Deputy Director of the Global Engagement Center, Dr. Arin Al-Shar'ah from the Faculty of Architecture and Design, and Ms. Reem Aabid from the Global Engagement Center. Dr. Al-Soud accompanied the guest on a tour of some university facilities, including the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Hospitality and Culinary Arts, where they were received by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Suzie Hatouk.
