Clinical Psychology Students Visit SOS Children's Village

Students from the Clinical Psychology Department at our AAU visited the SOS Children's Village in Amman. The visit aimed to understand the psychological support provided to the children residing in the village and those benefiting from its various projects. During the visit, several important points were discussed and clarified, including: • The protection policy and code of conduct. • The types of family care provided in the village (family houses, community houses, youth houses), the targeted age groups, the roles of mothers and caregivers, and the criteria for selecting mothers and caregivers, presented by Family Care Coordinator Hussam Jawarneh. • The Safe Homes project, including the targeted groups, provided services, case acceptance criteria, and partnerships, presented by Safe Homes Project Manager Munda Qanash. • The nature of psychological support services, case management, psychological assessment of children, intervention plans, and referrals to partnerships for specialized services, presented by Psychologist Arouba Amin. • The youth houses and the services provided to them, the semi-independence phase, and graduates, presented by the Youth and Semi-Independence Coordinator. • A guided tour of the village facilities. The visit was supervised by Dr. Issam Al-Dalain, Assistant Professor in the Clinical Psychology Department and Director of the Psychological Care Center at AAU.
