Chairman of the Office of the Ombudsman delivers a lecture at Al-Ahliyya Amman University

In line with Al-Ahliyya Amman University mission and vision related to the need to communicate with the local community institutions and as part of the University extracurricular activities, the Faculty of Law at Al-Ahliyya Amman University hosted the Office of the Ombudsman to give a lecture at the University in the presence of the President of the University. The Director of the Office of the Ombudsman addressed the incorporation, development, and objectives of establishing the Office of the Ombudsman in Jordan. He stressed that the Office of the Ombudsman is a national institution that is concerned with national integrity, justice, equality, transparency and equal opportunities. He underlined the negative effects of injustice that destroy the moral values of the communities. Injustice is prohibited by God according to the Hadith Qudsi “O My servants, I have forbidden oppression for Myself and have made it forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one another.” According to 2009 statistics, the Director of the Office of the Ombudsman stated that the number of complaints submitted to the Office of the Ombudsman are approximately 2716 complaints. 80.73 % of the total submitted complaints were processed. At the end of the lecture, the Director of the Office of the Ombudsman extended sincere thanks to Al-Ahliyya Amman University represented by its President, Prof. Dr. Maher Saleem, for the invitation to visit Al-Ahliyya Amman University and the opportunity to communicate with local community organizations that will increase awareness among young people and introduce them to the national institutions.
