Celebration of “Homeland and Leader Day” at Al-Ahliyya Amman University

Under the patronage of HE Mr. Saleh Shoshan, Governor of Al-Balqa, Al-Ahliyya Amman University organized “Homeland and Leader Day” in celebration of His Majesty King Abdullah II birthday, the anniversary of the Arabization of the leadership of the Arab army, and Karamah Battle anniversary.The ceremony was inaugurated by a rendition of the national anthem, followed by gendarmerie music, and reciting verses from the Holy Quran and Surat Al-Fatihah for the soul of martyr Judge Raed Zu'aytir. Prof. Dr. Sadeq Hamed, President of the University, welcomed Eng. Khalid Al-Khashman, mayor of Salt, faculty members, administrative staff, and the University students, who gathered in this day in celebration of precious occasions to the hearts of Jordanian people. Dr. Hamed pointed out that on this day, we recall honorable memories of the history and present of Jordan, the country of peace, harmony, warmness, safeguard, shelter to those who do not have a refuge, and the embracer of the nation despite its nods. On the thirtieth day of January in each year, Jordanian people light candles of joy to commemorate the birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the noble Arab Hashemite King by birth and actions, the leader of construction, who commands our admiration and honor, he added. Dr. Hamed recalled the builder of Jordan renaissance, the late King Hussein Bin Talal, may God rest his soul, and the decision he took for the Arabization of the leadership of the Arab army on the first day of March. The late King Hussein declared that Jordan will be safe only with its people and nation, he stated. Dr. Hamed added that Al-Karama Battle has restored pride and dignity to the Arab nation.The ceremony encompassed a variety of sketches, including folk and national songs performed by student Firas Sarmini and student Reham Eshtewi, poetry sketches presented by Mr. Bilal Rababa'a of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, and a photo presentation prepared by Professor Brian, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs. Artist Omar Sharbajee presented a collection of songs which were well-received by the students. At the end of the celebration, Dr. Hamid and the distinguished guests inaugurated a photo gallery of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
