Awareness Lecture on the Dangers of Smoking Delivered at Al-Jami’a Primary and Al-Salt Secondary School for Girls
As part of its ongoing community outreach efforts, the Women’s Health Center at the Faculty of Nursing, in collaboration with the Cancer Control Office at the King Hussein Cancer Center, organized an awareness lecture titled:
“The Dangers of Hookah and E-Cigarette Smoking”
at Al-Jami’a Primary School and Al-Salt Secondary School for Girls.
The lecture was delivered by Ms. Rawan Shehab, Head of Health Awareness and Media at the Cancer Control Office, who addressed the health, social, and psychological risks associated with hookah and e-cigarette use, especially among adolescents and youth.
The session aimed to enhance students' health awareness, correct misconceptions regarding the relative safety of hookahs and e-cigarettes compared to traditional cigarettes, and encourage young students to adopt healthy behaviors and avoid habits that could endanger their long-term well-being.
This initiative was organized by the Women’s Health Center under the supervision of Dr. Muna Al-Nsour and Pharmacist Haneen Al-Momani, as part of the center's mission to promote public health education and support preventive health initiatives in schools.
