An Orientation Day for the students of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences, headed by Prof. Ruba Al-Batayneh at Al-Ahliyya Amman University met and greeted the new students of the first semester of the academic year 2022/2023 on Monday 14/11/2022. Such orientation days come with the aim of introducing students to the faculty and its departments as well as providing the necessary support and guidance in the beginning of their educational path.The meeting was held in the Auditorium of Mahmoud Darwish at the university’s campus, in the presence of the Vice Deans, Heads of Departments and faculty members. After welcoming the students to the university, a presentation was displayed showing the university's vision, mission and distinction on academic and research levels. Students were also introduced to the achievements of the faculty during previous years. The heads of the academic departments introduced the multidisciplinary programs offered by the faculty and the recruitment opportunities available in the labor market. In addition, the faculty members reviewed the study and guidance plans, the learning outcomes, as they also noted the open access to the university’s library and laboratories other than emphasizing the importance of academic advising and continuous communication with academic advisors. Mrs. Zeina Abu Al-Samen, Director of the Career Guidance and Alumni Office highlighted the services and support provided by the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Office of Career Guidance and Alumni Office as they involve the students in multiple extracurricular activities, athletic and academic competitions which influence their educational journey. At the end of the meeting, a Q&A session was made to answers all inquiries of the students.
