An Awareness Campaign on the Breast Cancer in the AAU
Under the patronage of the AAU Vice President, Prof. Sulaiman Al-Lawzi, the activities of the “Check up and Reassure Us” program was commenced in the AAU. This activity was organized by the Jordanian Program of Breast Cancer.Prof. Sulaiman Al-Lawzi, the AAU Vice President, delivered a speech welcoming the audience and talking about the University efforts in adopting charity campaigns and supporting programs of awareness and education in cooperation with the concerned national institutions. He also stressed the AAU’s pride in the Jordanian Program of Breast Cancer which is a national program aiming to reduce the mortality rate which results from Breast Cancer. The program which aims to raise awareness and to move from the late diagnosis stage to the early diagnosis increases the recovery and the treatment chances. Dr. Khaled Arabiyyat, the Director of Al-Balqa Health Directorate, confirmed that the program is a national initiative that aims to offer and develop its services and to raise awareness towards the importance of early Breast Cancer detection for all women all over the Kingdom. It is worth mentioning that the recovery rates if detected early are estimated to be between 95% to 98%. The event included choir activities for the students of Asma Bint Abi Baker and an anthem for the students of Al-Eman School. At the end of the ceremony, a theater play titled “Check up and Reassure Us” was presented. The play aimed to raise awareness towards the importance of the early detection of Breast Cancer. The Play was performed by Muhammad Al-Zgoul and Muaz Al-Bzoor. The event was concluded by exchanging memorial shields and handing over certificates of appreciation to the participants.
