Amman Al-Ahliyya University President Honors Winners of the 2026 Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hackathon

Professor Sari Hamdan, President of Amman Al-Ahliyya University, honored the winning teams of the "2026 Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hackathon," organized by the University's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center from May 17 to 19, 2026. The event attracted broad participation from students across various academic disciplines and was attended by a distinguished group of trainers, mentors, and experts in entrepreneurship and innovation. The three-day hackathon was designed to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students by empowering them to develop creative ideas and transform them into practical, implementable solutions. Participants engaged in an interactive learning environment that combined teamwork, mentorship, and hands-on experience. The program featured specialized training sessions, workshops, and mentoring activities that supported participants in refining their ideas before presenting their final projects to the judging panel. Following the evaluation process, the most innovative projects were selected and their teams were recognized for their achievements. Mr. Mohammad Abdullah, Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, emphasized that the hackathon reflects the University's vision of promoting innovation, empowering young people, and providing practical opportunities for students to strengthen their creative thinking, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial skills in line with future workforce demands. At the closing ceremony, Professor Sari Hamdan honored the winning teams in the presence of Professor Bashar Al-Tarawneh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Rasha Al-Tarawneh, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology; and Engineer Ahmad Al-Hourani, Director of the Marketing and Communications Unit. The winning teams were as follows: • First Place: "MARIA" – Awarded a cash prize of JOD 700. Team members: Shawkat Ahmad Shawkat Kataneh, Eman Tariq Suleiman Habbak, Mohammad Sami Anwar Hammad, Ebaa Al-Ansari Mohammad Al-Mashaqbeh, and Waleed Khaled Waleed Breik. • Second Place: "Care Connect" – Awarded a cash prize of JOD 500. Team members: Maryam Ashraf Abdulrahman Khallad, Raneem Shadi Shafiq Obeidat, and Hala Maher Ali Al-Qudah. • Third Place: "Smart Drop" – Awarded a cash prize of JOD 300. Team members: Nayrouz Jamal Sreiwah, Issa Alaa Al-Sarhanah, Zaid Ashraf Al-Jaghbeer, Adyan Nashat Al-Hassan, and Farah Waleed Al-Rashq. The hackathon reflects Amman Al-Ahliyya University's ongoing commitment to cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset, encouraging innovation, and equipping students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to address real-world challenges and contribute to sustainable economic and social development.
