Amman Al-Ahliyya University Hosts the Central and Northern Regional Competitions and Qualifies for the Finals of the "Ana Osharek 2026" Hackathon

Amman Al-Ahliyya University continued to demonstrate its leadership in national and student activities as a team from the Faculty of Information Technology, representing the Central Region, qualified for the final stage of the "Ana Osharek 2026" Hackathon, organized by the Independent Election Commission. The team secured its place in the finals following an outstanding performance in a highly competitive contest involving teams from universities across the region. The Central and Northern regional competitions were hosted on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Amman Al-Ahliyya University campus under the supervision of the Deanship of Student Affairs and in coordination with the Faculty of Information Technology. The hackathon activities ran from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in a dynamic and competitive environment that brought together students from universities across Jordan. The hackathon aims to encourage university students to utilize emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, digital applications, data analysis, photography, and video production, to develop innovative digital solutions and awareness campaigns that promote youth and citizen engagement in national and community issues. It also seeks to strengthen the culture of civic participation, reinforce the values of transparency, and encourage volunteerism and community dialogue through creative and impactful initiatives. The qualifying team consisted of Jehad Fadi Mohammad Al-Buaijat, Sarah Khaled Musleh Al-Hiyari, Tala Atef Hassan Al-Shawashreh, and Hala Hani Mustafa Ghannam, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmad Abu Shareha from the Faculty of Information Technology. At the closing ceremony, Mr. Aws Al-Qtaishat, Partnership Project Director at the Independent Election Commission, commended Amman Al-Ahliyya University for its outstanding role in hosting and organizing the preliminary competitions, praising the University's excellent organization and support in ensuring the success of the event. He also presented the Commission's Shield to Professor Mustafa Al-Atiyat in recognition of the University's valuable contribution and cooperation in making the hackathon a success.
