Amman Al Ahliyya University and the British Council Sign Agreement to Establish the University as an Official IELTS Test Centre
Amman Al Ahliyya University and the British Council have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening their partnership in the delivery of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The agreement will expand opportunities for students and other test takers to access IELTS services in accordance with the highest international standards by accrediting the University's Language Center as an official IELTS test center operated by the British Council.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Amman Al Ahliyya University by Professor Dr. Ahmad Hamdan, Acting President of the University, and on behalf of the British Council by Mr. Alex Lambert, Country Director of the British Council in Jordan and Regional Director.
The signing ceremony was attended by a British Council delegation that included Ms. Ameera Manna, Head of Marketing in Jordan, and Ms. Alaa Al-Khatib, Account Manager. Representing the University were Professor Dr. Linda Al-Khawaja, Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Dr. Ahmad Al-Shalabi, Chair of the Department of English Language; and Mr. Tareq Shahada, Coordinator of the Language Center.
The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions in providing international English language testing services by offering a modern testing environment that meets global standards, serving both students and the local community while reinforcing the University's position as an accredited center for internationally recognized English language examinations.
Professor Dr. Ahmad Hamdan emphasized that this partnership aligns with the University's strategy of expanding its collaboration with prestigious international educational institutions and providing high-quality academic services that meet the needs of both students and the wider community.
For his part, Mr. Alex Lambert expressed his pride in partnering with Amman Al Ahliyya University, noting that the University possesses advanced infrastructure as well as highly qualified academic and administrative staff, enabling it to deliver IELTS testing services in accordance with the highest international quality standards. He also expressed his aspiration to further develop the partnership in ways that will benefit students and researchers pursuing study and employment opportunities both within Jordan and abroad.
