Al-Safadi Patronizes the First Day of AAU's Graduation Ceremony for the First Semester of the 32nd Cohort

His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Al-Safadi, Speaker of the House of Representatives, patronized the first day of Al-Ahliyya Amman University's graduation ceremony for its first-semester graduates of the 2024-2025 academic year, representing the 32nd cohort. The event took place on February 26, 2025, at the Arena Theater and included graduates from the faculties of Graduate Studies, Arts and Sciences, Educational Sciences, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Law, and Business. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the University’s Board of Directors; Prof. Sari Hamdan, University President; his deputy, Prof. Ahmed Hamdan; the President’s Advisor, Prof. Hadeel Al-Yaseen; the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs and Institutional Development, Dr. Iyad Shaaban; faculty deans, faculty members, administrative staff, and a large gathering of graduates' families and distinguished guests. The event commenced with the national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran by student Adam Al-Hadidi from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Before the speeches and formal proceedings, Dr. Maher Al-Hourani and Prof. Sari Hamdan presented a commemorative shield to His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Al-Safadi in recognition of his support. Honoring Excellence His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Al-Safadi also honored Prof. Ahmed Abu Urabi, the Dean of Scientific Research at the university, for his outstanding research achievements. Dr. Abu Urabi won the award for Best Researcher in the Humanities Faculties for the third consecutive time, with 29 research publications indexed in Scopus and over 6,000 research citations. University President’s Address Prof. Sari Hamdan welcomed the event’s patron, distinguished guests, and graduates. In his speech, he stated: "It is my pleasure to warmly welcome you all on this special day as we celebrate the graduation of students from the Faculties of Graduate Studies, Arts and Sciences, Law, Business, Educational Sciences, and Hospitality and Tourism Management at Al-Ahliyya Amman University. This moment is the result of years of dedication and perseverance, and it is a source of pride for all of us." He emphasized the university’s distinguished standing, built on the pioneering vision of the late Dr. Ahmed Al-Hourani, who believed in education as a driving force for national progress. Today, Al-Ahliyya Amman University continues to be a beacon of excellence in higher education. University Achievements Prof. Sari Hamdan highlighted the university’s significant academic accomplishments at local, regional, and global levels: • Ranked 2nd in Jordan and 16th in the Arab world in the 2024 Arab Universities Ranking by the Association of Arab Universities. • Featured in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) ranking, securing 28th place among Arab universities. • Ranked 1st in Jordan in Business and Economics, placing in the 401-500 category globally. • Leading private universities in Jordan in Information Technology, ranking 2nd nationally after the University of Jordan, and placed in the 401-500 category worldwide. • Recognized for excellence in Medical and Health Sciences, ranking 3rd nationally after the University of Jordan and Jordan University of Science and Technology, and placed within the 601-800 global category. • Achieved top rankings in the 2025 Webometrics rankings, securing 1st place among Jordanian private universities and 41st place in the Arab world. • Ranked 43rd among Arab universities in the 2025 QS World University Rankings. New Programs and Expansions To meet local and global market needs, the university has introduced several new academic programs, including: New Bachelor’s Programs • Digital Media • Electric Vehicle Engineering • Dental Technology • Occupational Therapy • Industrial Engineering and Quality Management • Chinese and English Languages • German and English Languages New Master’s Programs • Data Science and Artificial Intelligence • Business Technology New Technical College Specializations (Starting Next Year) • Film Production and Digital Media Design • Agricultural Technology • Electric Vehicle Maintenance • Medical Device Technology • Dental Technology Additionally, the university has obtained Pearson accreditation for specialized programs in Film and Television, Agricultural Technology, and Automotive Engineering. Addressing the Graduates Prof. Sari Hamdan expressed his pride in the graduates, stating: "Each of you represents the culmination of years of hard work and perseverance. As you step into this new phase of your lives, we are confident that you will become leaders and innovators in your respective fields, bringing pride to this esteemed university." He also extended deep gratitude to the graduates’ parents, recognizing their unwavering support in shaping the students' success. Tribute to His Majesty King Abdullah II Prof. Sari Hamdan reaffirmed the university’s unwavering support and loyalty to His Majesty King Abdullah II and his steadfast positions on Palestinian and Arab causes: "From this platform, we express our full solidarity and unwavering support for the principled and courageous stances of His Majesty King Abdullah II regarding the Palestinian cause and Arab issues. We take immense pride in His Majesty’s honorable positions, which reflect the will of all Jordanians." Graduates' Speech On behalf of the graduates, Sumaya Naeem Hamad Khalifat, a student from the Faculty of Graduate Studies, delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing gratitude to the university faculty for their dedication and commitment. She also thanked the parents for their sacrifices, saying: "If today we leave our university as graduates, we carry with us memories that will never fade. We hope to remain connected, and we look forward to seeing our university continue its journey of excellence and progress." Graduation Ceremony Prof. Ahmed Hamdan, Vice President and Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, formally announced the graduation, confirming that the students had met all degree requirements. His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Al-Safadi then presented diplomas to the graduates and awarded honors to outstanding students. The ceremony was eloquently hosted by Joud Ali Adnan Al-Shakheibi, who skillfully introduced each segment. Second Day of Graduation The graduation festivities will continue today, February 27, 2025, under the patronage of Prof. Sari Hamdan, honoring graduates from the Faculties of Pharmacy, Allied Medical Sciences, Nursing, Information Technology, Architecture and Design, and Engineering.
