Al-Anbousi, the AAU’s Media Advisor Presents A Workshop on the Press Release

In line with the AAU approach of developing its administrative cadre’s capability and performance in various areas, the Department of Public and International Relations organized a training workshop on the press release. Mr. Ahmad Al-Anbousi, the Media Advisor at the University presented this workshop which took place on Wednesday, 1/11/2017 at the theater of the“Late Founder of the AAU, Dr. Ahmad Al-Horani”. Mrs. Enas Al-Horani, the Director of the Department, moderated the event in the presence of Mr. Iyad Shabaan, Assistant to the University President for Administrative Affairs, some journalists, some academics and scores of employees from different departments and faculties.In the workshop, Mr. Al-Anbousi defined the press release as “one form of the journalistic writing”. He also explained its elements, structure, types and standards as well as how to formulate and write it. Then he divided the participants into working groups to formulate “a press release on some topic” to be presented and discussed by members of each group and to be judged by supervisors and participants by showing the strong and weak aspects of its formulation. The workshop activities were very successful and the attendants valued such courses and workshops which are of great benefit to their good performance.All the participants who have successfully passed this workshop were handed certificates. At the end of the workshop, it was announced that more courses in the area of Journalistic Writing and in other areas will be held and organized by the AAU Department of Public and International Relations.
