Al-Ahliyya Amman wins the elections of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Universities Union UNIMED

Al-Ahliyya Amman University won the elections of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Universities Union, thus making Prof. Dr. Sari Hamdan, President of the University, a key member of the Board of Directors until 2026. The university received 53 votes out of 61 eligible to vote. The university was represented in the meetings and elections this year by the Vice President for External Affairs and Quality, Prof. Anas Al-Saud, which was held in Granada, Spain. The Union, which was founded in 1991, includes 153 universities from 24 countries, including France, Italy, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and a group of Arab and African countries. The Federation also includes 12 Jordanian universities. It is noteworthy that the Union works to network universities in the Mediterranean region and helps in finding the necessary support for joint academic or research projects. It is supported by a range of countries and programmes, including Erasmus. In previous years, Jordan was represented by the former President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Prof. Mashhour Al-Rifai. The President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Prof. Sari Hamdan, will represent Jordan on the Board of Directors of the Union during this cycle, which will last for three years.
