Al-Ahliyya Amman University/King Abdullah II Fund Implements the Second Phase of Roots Program
In line with Al-Ahliyya Amman University directions to support the talents of students, extracurricular activities and student social sense, the second phase of Roots Program, which was launched by King Abdullah II Fund, was commenced by visiting Al-Midmar Secondary School for Girls by the Program volunteers. This phase of the Program involves community-based initiatives. Each team of school students, under the supervision of the University students, was assigned to design volunteer projects for their schools to improve the infrastructure of their schools, as well as planning and implementing community-based voluntary initiatives targeting the schools participating in the Project. Each team will obtain the necessary equipment and a defined budget dedicated for implementing the initiative successfully. In the third phase of the Program, the projects will be evaluated and the best volunteers will be selected. In the final phase “Training Program Phase”, a group of young men and women who have qualified in the previous phase will be crowned as volunteer leaders in Jordan and will have the opportunity to participate in a special training program involving the leaders of the Jordanian community. The program is launched in collaboration with the Ministries of Education, Agriculture, Water, and Public Works, offices of King Abdullah II Fund in the Jordanian universities, Challenges Team for Preparing Leaders and Human Resources Development and other national institutions and stakeholders.
