Al-Ahliyya Amman University Tops the Friendly 3x3 Women’s Basketball Tournament

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Professor Sari Hamdan, the friendly women’s 3x3 basketball tournament concluded on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. The tournament was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs through the Student Activities and Clubs Division at the Arena Hall, with the participation of seven public and private Jordanian universities. The event featured strong competition and an outstanding display of sportsmanship among the participating teams. Al-Ahliyya Amman University Team 1 claimed the tournament title after defeating Al-Ahliyya Amman University Team 2 in the final match with a score of 18 to 15. Team 2 secured second place, while the team of Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan finished third. The tournament also included a friendly match between male students from Al-Ahliyya Amman University and Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, which ended with a 60 to 50 victory for Al-Ahliyya Amman University. At the closing ceremony, Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, President of the University, and Professor Dr. Mustafa Al-Attiyat, Dean of Student Affairs, awarded trophies to the top three teams, in the presence of several administrative staff members and a large gathering of students. The tournament aimed to promote university sports activities, encourage students to practice basketball, foster a spirit of competition and teamwork among participants, and strengthen communication and relationships between universities in a friendly and positive sporting environment.
